Dr. Bobette Brown, Founder & Executive Director - The Lady Chapter, Inc.

“An irritated oyster produces the pearl.”

During the ages of 24-37, I was experiencing major transitions and upheaval in my life and needed a trusted guide. Although I had endless love and support from my mother, I was unable to find an older woman in my local area who was willing to invest in me, but not change who I was at my core. What I was really looking for was a woman-guide who would allow me to be authentically me, even if, by her standards, I was different. The TLC organization was birthed out of that discomfort. I have a firm conviction about equipping the next generation of lady leaders, giving them what I did not have. –Bobette Brown
